Welcome to the PSSD Podcast
Join us as we share news, inspiration and personal stories for the PSSD community
Episode 1: Jess and Emily discuss their experiences with Post-SSRI/SNRI Sexual Dysfunction. For Emily the onset occurred at age 23 after tapering off an SSRI she had been on for several years. Jess, by contrast, was first put on SSRIs as a child of 11 and never had the opportunity to experience a functioning sexuality as result (for their full written testimonies see the Our Stories section.) They go over their experiences to date trying to communicate with doctors and make sense of life with PSSD.
Episode 2: Emily interviews Shawn on his PSSD. Shawn has had the condition for 10 years -from age 14 years old to the present. He experiences accompanying symptoms of derealization and visual snow. He shares his experiences in online PSSD communities while growing up and trying to form relationships with PSSD. Read Shawn’s written story here.
Episode 3: Celine Lüning, psychologist and PhD candidate at University of Witten/Herdecke, tells us about her upcoming study on PSSD symptoms and the possible link to the menstrual cycle. Do symptoms fluctuate over the course of the month, and what might this tell us about PSSD’s impact on hormones? She explains how online activism is succeeding in getting the attention of doctors and academics and her thoughts on the current landscape of PSSD research.
